Hey guys!
This...this has been the post I have been waiting to make and arguably the one solitary highlight of my trip that I am looking forward to the most! I got word last night from Chelsea in America that my ticket to the game against Nottingham Forest AT Stamford Bridge has been confirmed! This means that I am finally getting a chance to watch my beloved club in person at their ground. I have to admit guys, I may have shed a man tear or two...or three. I have been a Chelsea fan since I was 17 and my fandom started in 2006 with watching a match against Barcelona, something that seemed so arbitrary at the time. A friend of mine asked me to watch it and record it on a VHS (yes, I am that old), and who would have known that it would end up being something that has been such a huge part of my life.
I was able to watch Chelsea play in a friendly against Inter Milan in 2013 when they came to Indianapolis, and I have seen the Chelsea Women play twice in 2022, at their home stadium of Kingsmeadow and in the 2022 Women's FA Cup Final at Wembley, but this has been the one experience I have been waiting half of my lifetime for. I know it sounds like I may be exaggerating a bit, but it's the truth. I personally do not have much of a bucket list, but this experience is something that I would say would be on it and even top it. Of course, I will make sure to post as many pictures as I can of the game, but I am going to make sure that I am living in the moment the best that I can.
As of the time of writing, I do not know where exactly it is I will be seated, but I really don't think that matters too much at the moment. I am just happy and blessed to have gotten to opportunity to finally get to go watch the team play! I still have the tour of Stamford Bridge coming up later in October and I have also put in for a second Chelsea match on the 27th of October. So all in all, I could have 3 different trips to that hallowed ground, and I cannot express how happy and blessed I am with these opportunities.
There are still some surprises coming around every corner so as always, keep an eye on this space!
Until next time,
Tc
